Saturday:
Personal, one to one instruction where you learn how to meditate, (allow one and a half hours) where you learn the basic technique of TM & can then practice it on your own at home. This is followed by 3 group meetings where the technique is fine tuned and you get a clearer & more practical understanding of TM which equips you to meditate on a regular basis in everyday life. The group meetings are very informal, enjoyable & you don’t have to speak unless you want too. The number of participants vary with the max being 16 and average about 10.
Sunday: Group sessions, 10.30am – 1.00pm and 6.30 – 8.30pm
Monday: Group session, 7.00 – 9.00pm.

Free support & guidance
Transcendental Meditation (TM) is very much a technique you can practice on your own and use to enrich everyday life, correctly practised it should be an easy, effortless & enjoyable experience. Most people like to have the option of keeping in touch, consequently we offer ongoing, regular follow up refresher sessions which are open to anyone who has ever learned TM, these are also at Greyfriars.
The Ringwood, Hampshire Transcendental Meditation Teacher
Chris Greathead has been teaching TM courses in Ringwood for over 10 years. He was born in the New Forest later moving to Winchester where he first learnt TM in 1971 & spent many years studying with Maharishi’s TM organisation in Switzerland, France, India & the UK qualifying as a TM teacher in 1977.
Based in Newcastle upon Tyne since 1985 he has taught TM fulltime across the UK & worked with staff from most of the major private & public sector organisations & business’s in the north east.
In 1995 he left the international TM organisation after fundamentally disagreeing with the direction they were taking & the huge increase in the fee to learn TM, £500 for all, regardless of income, a few years later raised yet again to £1280.
He has since continued teaching as an independent TM teacher with what he hopes is a more down to earth approach. “The main thing to understand about TM, is that on the one hand it is the simplest thing you will ever learn, but there is definitely a subtlety to it which is why one needs a bit of guidance initially. There is no such thing as a good or bad meditator, anyone & everyone can meditate, but once learned it is a simple & precious skill you have for life.”

Testimonials for Transcendental Meditation Hampshire course
I have been practising yoga for over 24 years and been teaching for 16. I have studied many different systems of meditation during this time but felt unable to commit to a regular practice as on a personal level I felt something was missing. I had been interested in T.M but found the cost prohibitive. That was until I discovered Chris Greathead – Transcendental Meditation Independant (UK). I found Chris a relaxed and supportive teacher, always on hand to offer advice if needed.
I immediately took the plunge and ten years on have never looked back. As soon as I started T.M, I found what had been previously missing for me in other styles. I loved the simplicity and ease of it. My life (like many) is extremely busy but I always ensure I meditate at least once a day for 20 minutes. The benefits are many. I sleep better, I have more energy, I feel calmer and happier and much better equipped to deal with stress.
I would recommend learning T.M to anyone (and indeed do).

Sharon, Yoga teacher, Southampton, Hants
My wife and I attended a Transcendental Meditation course about 9 years ago now and we have found this to be totally life changing, we feel empowered to deal with stress and pressure, by meditating daily we have an opportunity to truly unwind and feel deeply peaceful and re-energized. This has improved our lives in so many ways, we have recommended TM and Chris Greathead to many of our friends and will continue to practice it and reap the rewards of giving our selves some time in this ever increasingly demanding and fast paced world.
Richard, Businessman, Andover, Hants
I studied meditation under Chris. He’s a fab teacher – very patient, considerate, and like all good teachers, allows his students to arrive at the learning point at their own pace, and in their own way. Meditation is one of those life skills that you’re continually learning – your experiences and perceptions of it change, and what you get from Chris is support through that process, as much or as little as you like. Highly recommended.
